STG Software Consultants Limited specialises in the design, development, implementation and support of software systems written in MUMPS or Intersystems Caché. Traditionally focusing on the healthcare market, we have over 25 years experience within the healthcare sector.
Much of our work has concentrated on Patient Administration Systems. We have developed and supported modules in Patient Master Index, Inpatients, Outpatients, Waiting List, Clinical Coding, Maternity, Radiology, Cancer Registry, Pathology, Pharmacy, Casenote Tracking, Theatres, Child Health and Community Systems.
Major projects have involved migration of data from legacy MUMPS-based systems to various platforms.
MUMPS (M-technology)
MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multi-Programming System) is a computer language, developed in the late 1960s, originally for use in the healthcare industry. During the 1970s and early 1980s it was adopted by many healthcare and financial institutions and continues to be used in healthcare record systems and financial/trading systems throughout the world.
Intersystems Caché
Caché is an object database management system from Intersystems. At it’s heart, Caché has a MUMPS database, but allows object and SQL access to this database. Caché ObjectScript (MUMPS), Caché Basic or T-SQL can be used to develop application business logic. Caché Server Pages technology allows creation of Web applications which dynamically create webpages, typically using data from a Caché database.
Intersystems
Intersystems is a company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1978 and was one of the original vendors of MUMPS (“M”) technology. Over the years they have acquired several other MUMPS implementations, making them the leading MUMPS vendor.
